Sandy Arthur, 71, of Avoca, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Westview Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation. She was born in Bedford on May 4, 1955, to Maurice L. and Rosemary (Gordon) Graves. She married Robert Arthur; he preceded her in death on October 29, 2013.
She was a graduate of Needmore High School, a homemaker, and previously owned and managed a pet supply company.
Survivors (as listed publicly): Chelsea (Jeremy) Terrell of Avoca; Tyler Younger of Martinsville; grandson Jake (Briana Watterson) Terrell; brother Terry Graves of Bedford; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Arthur; and sisters Shirley Carmichael and Patsy McFadden, per the obituary.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Cresthaven Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Visitation was the same day from 3:00 PM until service time.
